Reporting to the Underground Electrical General Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for assisting in managing all aspects of the Automaition and instrumentation teams, Shaft electrical, Electrical Hoisting plants, underground comms and remote/semi auto install teams. A core function of your duties will be to ensure that maintenance work is performed in the safest and most cost-effective manner in compliance with expected standards and regulations. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Coordinate with planning teams Electrical General Supervisor and all other departments to ensure work is performed correctly, safely and on time with minimal impact on mine productivity;
- Oversee Hoisting/shaft and automation Electrical supervisors who are responsible for Hoisting plants, communications, Automation and instrumentation
- Hold daily safety/communication meetings with crew;
- Assist with supporting supervisors;
- Ensure crews are trained to work in a safe, productive and environmentally sound manner;
- Inspect work to identify training needs and assist in development of training programmes
- Supervise and manage performance in step with set KPI’s including planned and responsive maintenance & shutdowns;
- Ensure production and maintenance KPI's are attained (availability, throughput, schedule compliance, costs);
- Motivate and instruct all crew members when possible;
- Review and sign off work-orders in SAP/CMMS, review PM sheets for completion and proper information
- Communicate with other departments personnel to plan and schedules maintenance work;
- Assist in revising programs, procedures, parts, systems, etc;
- Assist in budgeting and material order tracking
- All other duties as assigned.
- Certified Redseal Electrician or Instrumentaion technician;
- 5 years work experience in the underground mining industry
- Minimum 2 years of Supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of CCMs program, SAP, look up parts, generate work orders, etc.
- Sound working knowledge of best health and safety practices
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Experience with Mine Hoisting plants
- Sound knowledge in PLC’s and instrumentation
- Attention to detail
