NMPP Energy, located in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking an Application & Systems Development Administrator to join our team. Use your skills, experience, and talents to design, develop, and administer databases and business systems. This role will focus on building and maintaining applications (web, mobile, and internal) that integrate organizational data and processes, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with business strategy. The administrator will provide analytical reporting, support decision-making, and develop custom software solutions to enhance organizational capability.
The Application & Systems Development Administrator supports the mission of NMPP Energy by:
- Designing, coding, testing, and implementing custom applications; enhancing and maintaining existing business applications, ensuring integration with internal and external systems; designing, testing, and implementing AI enabled solutions; ensuring secure coding practices and compliance with cybersecurity standards in all applications.
- Installing, configuring, and upgrading database services; managing security, backups, recovery, and performance tuning; planning for storage growth and system scaling; setting up and maintaining of data warehouse; maintaining data quality, governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Administering Office 365/SharePoint, workflows, and collaboration tools; coordinating with vendors and IT staff to expand functionality and ensuring system alignment with organization needs; providing support for operations systems.
- Developing queries, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making; delivering insights for risk management, market analytics, and operational metrics; creating automated reporting processes; leveraging advanced analytics and AI/ML models for predictive insights and scenario modeling.
- Writing scripts and connectors to integrate internal systems and automate data workflows; using Power Automate and APIs to streamline business processes; developing and maintaining APIs and connectors to support interoperability with external partners and member utilities.
- Documenting workflows, system requirements and data dictionaries; providing training to staff on tools, reports, and new applications; developing knowledge base articles, SOPs, and self-service resources.
- Participating in cross-functional projects; assisting colleagues; and evaluating new technologies.
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
- SQL (MS SQL/MySQL) and data warehouse management
- Application development (.NET, C#, Visual Studio, Power Apps, APIs)
- Automation with Power Automate, VBA, PowerShell
- Analytics and reporting (Power BI, advanced Excel)
- Secure coding practices, data governance, and system integration
- Knowledge of software development practices, cybersecurity principles, and data governance requirements.
- Skilled in system integration, business process automation, and advanced data analysis and visualization.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate effectively through documentation, training, and collaboration.
