ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II (ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING))

Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to provide essential support in the Electrical Engineering Department. In this role, you’ll handle a variety of administrative tasks while helping drive the success of your team through effective organization and communication.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Thorough knowledge of safety rules, office terminology, processes, and equipment.

- Strong command of vocabulary, English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and business math.

- Proficiency in record keeping and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Skill in keyboarding accurately at a moderate rate of speed.

- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.

- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.

Minimum Qualifications (one of the following:

- Associate’s degree or certification in a business-related field + 4 years of progressively responsible administrative support experience (such as office assistant, senior clerk, secretary, or related role). - High school diploma or equivalent + 8 years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.

- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Special Requirements:

- Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, spelling, and keyboarding.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position.

Protective Equipment:

- As required by the PWC Safety Manual.
