Overview
The Treasury Operations department is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Accounts Payable Analyst to support the payment processing function. This role is responsible for interacting with internal customers, vendors, and other third parties, assisting with preparation and analysis of metrics, and providing administrative support across the department. The ideal candidate will be control minded, possess effective verbal and written communication skills, and exhibit strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational abilities. Success in this role requires a collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment.
This position may be filled in Louisville, KY or Allentown, PA. Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve inquiries or complex exceptions and ensure smooth operational processes.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and performing account analysis.
- Support vendor onboarding by reviewing and validating remittance information to ensure accurate and efficient payment processing.
- Generate and analyze monthly financial and operational metrics and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Provide support and training to internal and external users on accounts payable processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend and implement changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls within the Accounts Payable department.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounts payable policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting regulations while keeping information confidential.
- Support departmental initiatives by contributing to special projects and conducting ad hoc analyses to inform decision-making and drive process improvements.
- Execute additional responsibilities and tasks as delegated by management to support departmental goals and operational needs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 0-2 years of financial experience
- Requires knowledge and skills in own discipline; still acquiring higher level skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, cash transaction rules, and financial processes
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial systems
- Ability to problem solve and prioritize issues resolution
