The Opportunity

We are recruiting an Accounts Payable / Junior Accountant position to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will report to the group Controllers and will work closely with our Finance, Supply Chain and Operations Support teams with responsibilities in Accounts Payable (coverage for maternity leave) and general accounting supporting the various companies. We are looking for a professional, team player who has meticulous attention to detail and who understands the importance of accuracy in reporting. Key responsibilities include:

Accounts Payable (covering maternity leave including ongoing AP support)

•

Receive, verify, reconcile and process invoices

•

Work through and resolve supplier issues and inquiries

•

Reconcile company credit card accounts

•

Reconcile monthly supplier statements

•

Review and follow-up on all unprocessed transactions

•

Prepare and complete month end journal entries and inter-company invoicing for various expenses

•

Process accounts payable month end balancing and reporting

•

Maintain company accounts payable emails for all incoming supplier invoices and inquiries

•

Maintain supplier databases for correct contact information

•

Assist with invoice and bill payments, ensuring timely and accurate payments

•

File processed invoices and payment batches

Junior Accountant

•

Perform account analysis and assist with account reconciliations

•

Assist with general ledger and subledger postings

•

Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements for various entities in the corporate group, including month-end close processes

•

Work with Finance team to collaborate with and provide documentation to external auditors

The Ideal Candidate

•

Diploma in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration (preferable) or equivalent work experience

•

Understanding of the accounts payable function as it impacts financial management and financial reporting

•

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

•

Ability to handle and maintain confidential or sensitive information

•

Demonstrated ability to problem solve

•

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•

Excellent organization and time management skills

•

Superior interpersonal skills

•

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel) and accounting/accounts payable application software

•

Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment

•

Fluency in written and spoken English
