Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial reports. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

The Position:
We are looking for a full-time Accounting Specialist. Our starting pay is $20.00-$24.00 per hour.

Responsibilities and duties
•Data entry skills to record transactions.
•Recording transactions such as expenses and sales revenue
•Processing payments to utilities and vendors to pay for supplies, materials and other expenses
•Sending bills to customers to request payment for services or goods provided
•Reconciling accounts and making notes of debits and credits that have not been posted
•Generating financial reports as requested
•Identifying and correcting any errors that occur due to data entry
•Present monthly accounting totals for the company
•Write company checks and keep excel spread sheet.
•Evaluate financial operations and recommend best practices for the company, such as ways to increase revenue and efficiency.
•Assist with the preparation for annual audits and IRS forms.
•Ability to use accounting software.
•Knowledge of tax and financial reporting laws
•Arithmetic skills to double-check calculations
•Strong analytical skills to locate and correct errors
•Demonstrated organizational skills to keep information from various accounts separate
•Multitasking ability to work on multiple tasks throughout the day
•Time management skills to ensure that reports are completed and payments are received on time
•Ensure employee information in all accounting information systems is accurate.
•Ensure all company files contain the required documents,
•Process time sheets for all departments for payroll.
•Assists in managing administration and adherence to Accounting Specialist policies and procedures.
•Participates in training activities and special projects.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
•At least 1-2 years of accounting experience or in a similar role
•Proven experience in accounting or a related field, with strong technical accounting skills.
•Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective report writing and presentation.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong mentoring capabilities.
