Job Description: Lead Accounting team operations, including the planning, supervision, and coordination of staff responsibilities, to provide critical and accurate financial data supporting organizational objectives.
40%: Supervise the General Accounting staff, including responsibility for scheduling activities, prioritizing work, and establishing deadlines. Responsibilities of General Accounting staff include work in process accounting for company divisions, fixed assets, commission accounting, billing, sales and use Tax, general ledger account reconciliation, banking activities.
15%: Assist in preparation, review, and distribution of monthly financial statements and analysis thereof.
15%: Assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget.
Working Hazards: Works in a seated position for extended periods of time.
Physical/Mental Exertion: Ability to perform light physical work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis, performing such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, crouching, and repetitive tasks. Continuous attention to numerical details. Normal office environment.
Education: Requires four year college level course of study in business administration, accounting, finance or related fields.
Experience: 5+ years of related field or equivalent training, education and experience. 1-3 years of experience developing direct reports into a strong team unit.
Technical Abilities: Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of arithmetic, algebraic equations, percentages, and fractions to practical situations. Ability to compose written correspondence and documentation. Ability to work with all levels of system users, customers, and vendors. Strong computer skills in excel, powerpoint and other MS office products and the ability to prepare and retrieve reports and data. Ability to analytically review work done with a global perspective in order to summarize the results. Ability to provide accurate results in a fast paced deadline oriented environment.
Autonomy/Direction: Take performance expectations from senior leaders and directs the work of others to meet expectations and keep senior leaders up to date on the progression or any surprises that may arise.Works with little to no supervision and is required to demonstrate high-level decision-making including personnel decisions.
