Position Overview

- Under general supervision responsible for applying accounting principles, practices and concepts to varied assignments including recording, classifying and examining data records in support of the DUF6 project sites. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities of support in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Functional:

- Utilizes learned techniques to carry out a sequence of related accounting tasks

- Assists with preparation, recording, analyzing, reporting, and documenting accounting transactions

- Records accounting entries and produces statements assessing the profitability of operations for management

- Supports in the preparation of account and bank reconciliations

- Uploads and tracks all financial accruals/costs monthly

- Aids in the preparation of journal entries and maintaining ledgers

- Assists in the preparation of Kentucky and Ohio sales and use tax returns

- Utilizes current Kentucky and Ohio regulatory and administrative requirements to ensure sales and use tax compliance

- Assists with assigning general ledger account numbers and determining taxability/exemption from sales and use tax with regard to purchase requisitions

- Supports compilation of information for posting to the general ledger and assists in preparation of invoices

- Aids in tracking and recording miscellaneous cash receipts

- Helps prepare intra-company billings

- Serves as a backup resource in the maintenance of the financial statement report writer

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

- 3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) credential
