Primary Purpose: Ensure that all District Access Controls and Cameras are functioning as designed. Maintain that all licenses are up-to-date and that any deficiencies are corrected promptly. Maintain and operate all access control systems including staff badging and access level assignments, door access and controls systems
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
•High School Diploma or GED
•Valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and written reference materials
•Ability to perform mathematical calculations
•Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
•Ability to use hand and power tools
•Intermediate computer skills
•Knowledge of local/state/federal requirements to ensure compliance; technical knowledge and understanding of all facility systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, door access, security and other special systems)
•Ability to communicate and interact with staff and students in a professional manner Experience:
•High School diploma or GED
•Five years of job-related experience; an Associate’s degree in Building Management may be considered as a substitute for some experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
General:
•Maintain building systems in accordance with all local, state and federal requirements. (Burglar system, access control, ARA systems, door access and badging systems and other special systems)
•Coordinate, schedule and manage all facility inspections and contractor repairs in accordance with all local, state, and federal requirements
•Coordinate and act as a primary point of contact for access control, camera specialist and maintenance on safety, security, property damage, and emergency related situation
•Coordinate and supervise necessary repairs associated with job duties described above.
•Maintain appropriate records and generate reports for all facilities related inspections, testing, licenses, etc.
•Coordinate with general contractors and other contractors on warranty related repairs.
•Meet regularly with district staff, fire marshals, local and state inspectors and contractors.
•Develop, schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance of key building systems and equipment.
•Provide training on certain building systems for maintenance staff, other support staff and building occupants.
•Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
•Perform other duties as assigned
•Serve as the District’s Locksmith

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals. Phone, radio, computer, multi-meter, gauges, ladder, hoist, hand and power tools and other related equipment or tools. Light truck or van.
Posture: Continual Walking, standing, climbing. Occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse Lifting: Occasional light to heavy lifting.
Environment: Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours. Exposure to extreme temperatures.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district-wide travel.
