Abstractor

Atencio Hall, PLLC is searching for a full-time self-motivated Paralegal and/or abstractor to assist a team of top energy attorneys in their Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office (located conveniently along the I-376 corridor in the Carnegie-Greentree area). Remote work can be accommodated, part-time.

In this role, the professional will be responsible for assisting our firm’s title operations team in the organization of oil & gas abstracts and workflow toward supporting project and staff efficiencies. This role will be integral in the initial stages of preparing work product, including title opinions reporting on ownership of surface and mineral rights for use by oil and gas exploration and production companies. The Paralegal will also support attorneys and support staff in the firm’s growing residential and commercial real estate practice. The ideal candidate would possess strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a high level of organization while working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the operations manager - coordinating a top-notch team to efficiently prepare title opinions, by reviewing and compiling information from third-party title searches of county real estate records (such as deeds, mortgages, easements and oil & gas leases) into a template
• Identifying common files for efficient attorney assignments
• Drafting legal documents and correspondence
• Working with Excel spreadsheets; formatting Word documents
• Abstracting title orders and recording client documents in regional county recorder’s offices for energy and commercial/residential real estate clients

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in a related field preferred
• Previous real estate or energy law firm or abstracting experience a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and communication skills with close attention to detail
• A client-focused attitude, flexibility, and the ability to multitask and manage priorities
• Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team
• Ability to strictly maintain client and firm confidentiality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, PDF skills, etc.
