The Summer Intern, Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement will support the rehabilitation and construction activities of sewer infrastructure projects. This role will assist with project scheduling, coordination of communications among contractors and agencies, monitoring progress of structural rehabilitation work, and supporting compliance with site restoration and safety protocols. In addition, the intern will support stakeholder engagement efforts by preparing project updates, organizing meetings, and assisting with addressing community concerns related to construction impacts, traffic control, and project delivery.

Your essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Support planning, execution, and monitoring of sewer rehabilitation projects, including trenchless rehabilitation methods such as Geopolymer Lining Systems (GLS) and Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP).
- Assist with project scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking for infrastructure rehabilitation activities.
- Monitor construction and rehabilitation work and document progress through reports, field notes, and photographs.
- Support coordination and communication with contractors, agencies, property owners, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement activities by preparing project updates, organizing meetings, and documenting discussions.
- Help address community and stakeholder concerns related to construction impacts, traffic control measures, and site restoration.
- Support preparation of technical documentation, project reports, and rehabilitation status updates.
- Prepare meeting summaries and stakeholder communication materials to support effective project delivery.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with safety protocols, site restoration requirements, and project standards.The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided.
Basic civil engineering knowledge, particularly related to infrastructure rehabilitation and project management.
Exposure to project scheduling and resource allocation concepts.
Familiarity with trenchless rehabilitation methods such as CIPP and Geopolymer Lining Systems (GLS), sewer flow control, or inspection processes to support project documentation and reporting.
Ability to support stakeholder coordination through clear and effective communication.
Must be currently enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate or graduate program
Must have at least 30 credit hours complete
Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average
Basic civil engineering knowledge related to trenchless rehabilitation methods (GLS and CIPP).
Familiarity with sewer system procedures and rehabilitation activities.
Ability to support project scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to support stakeholder coordination.
Ability to work in confined spaces and active construction environments.
Ability to participate in frequent on-site activities and navigate construction sites safely.
Ability to use or work around specialized tools and equipment as required.
Ability to adhere to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
Experience with scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and technical documentation or reporting.
Preferred Majors: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields, with relevant coursework or experience in project management or construction management.
Strong project management skills, including task tracking and coordination.
Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement, documentation, and reporting.
