Holder Construction is seeking 401(K) and Payroll Compliance Manager to join our project team in Atlanta, GA.
The 401(K) and Payroll Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations related to 401(K) retirement plan administration and payroll operations. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll and supports compliance with federal, state, and ERISA regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in retirement plan administration, payroll and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
•Oversee day-to-day administration of the company’s 401(K) plan in coordination with the third-party administrators
•Ensure timely and accurate remittance of employee and employer contributions
•Maintain compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations
•Liaise with third party administrators, record keepers, and auditors to manage annual plan audits and form 5500 filings
•Support the 401K enrollment process
•Manage the full cycle payroll process to ensure accurate and timely pay for all employees across multiple states
•Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, local wage and hour laws, including tax filings and reporting in conjunction with payroll provider
•Support external audits and regulatory reviews related to payroll and retirement plans
+ Maintain payroll records, payroll G/L accounts, and resolve any discrepancies.
+ Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee data for payroll purposes
+ Prepare monthly payroll bank accounts reconciliation
+ Identify and mitigate compliance risks through process improvement and internal controls
+ Resolve notices timely and accurately
+ Monitor changes in legislation and implement necessary compliance updates
+ Assist with other functions as needed
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
•5+ years of experience in 401K administration and payroll compliance
•Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL regulations, and payroll tax compliance, including ADP experience
•Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Lookups and pivot table are a must.
•Strong analytical skills and attentiveness to detail.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of employee information.
•Ability to research, understand, and apply federal, state and local regulations
