2nd or 3rd shift Production Worker

We are seeking a dynamic candidate to join our Delta, OH location as a Production Worker, for our upcoming 2nd and 3rd shifts.

The ideal candidate would have experience in working in an ever-changing, fast-moving, and evolving environment. Candidates who have worked within a manufacturing/distribution environment are highly preferred. Tube mill experience a plus, and Overhead Crane experience.

Position Summary

The Nova Steel USA Production Worker primary duties include, but are not limited to, the set up and operation of machines and completing some secondary operations in the most productive and efficient way possible. It is the operator’s responsibility to maintain and ensure the quality of the products produced meet the highest level of quality and the customers’ requirements. The operator will also be responsible for material handling, packaging, machine maintenance, including keeping the machine and your work area clean.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

· Foster a culture of safety awareness and safety prioritization.

· Ensure that quality standards are met, champion quality ownership of work center.

· Follow all company rules, policies, and procedures; communicate issues or concerns with division management and/or Corporate.

· Setup and operate plasma / oxy cutting machines, grinders, shot blasters, or other pieces of equipment, as directed by the Production Supervisor and Operations Manager.

· Inspect material prior to processing for damage and / or quality defects.

· Perform visual and measured quality inspections during production to ensure products meet the required specifications.

· Utilize and read the appropriate measuring instruments.

· Pack parts as specified on the Work Order or as communicated by the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager.

· Review paperwork for accuracy and confirm that any special requests called out on the Work Order are understood.

· Regularly clean and conduct specified routine maintenance on machines to ensure they are in optimum working condition.

· Keep your immediate work area and other areas of the shop clean and orderly.

· Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the division management team.

Job Requirements

Education

· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

· Technical/Vocational Training a Plus

Experience & Certifications

· Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.

Tube Mill

· Overhead Crane Certified preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

· Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

· Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time.
