2D/3D CNC Laser, Plasma and Punch Programmer

JOB TITLE: 2D/3D CNC Laser/Plasma/Punch Programmer

Supervised By: Operations Manager

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Specializes in creating NC parts programs for quoting and orders. Utilizes drawing, importing 3D solid model and 2D dxf/dwg to create parts for flat laser, structural lasers, plasma table and punch line.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Programmer for lasers/plasma burn/punch

- Interprets blueprints, programs shapes, nest shapes to insure accuracy in processing the material

- Create NC programs via drawing, importing 3D solid models and 2D dxf/dwg files for quoting and orders

- Create and edit tool paths to be processed by the Fabri Gear 150 and FiCep Punch Line

- Perform simulations on programs to insure proper clearance of work piece with plasma and laser heads

- Generate nest for similar or dissimilar parts on same profile incorporating shapes and plates.

- Maintain customer library to include quotes, programs, product and service reports

- Provides information to operators to ensure quality parts produced on-time and meets the customer requirements

- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Operation Manager or Production Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED.

PC experience with Windows application.

3D machine operator's experience preferred

Experience with making templates, AutoCAD or Draft Sight and Solid Works

Programming of 2D in Sigma Nest or similar for laser, plasma, oxy burnpunch

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Laser experience (operating / programming).

Ability to work as a team member without close supervision to meet company and personal goals

Capable of reading orders, a tape measure, calipers, blueprints and square

Organizationalplanning skills, quality control knowledge, hand to eye coordination and excellent mathcommunication skills
