Yard Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Leads and oversees all operational activities within Pipe Yard Operations, including Receiving, Shipping, and Personnel Management. Utilizes data-driven insights to plan workloads and enhance efficiency across the entire Shipping and Receiving department. Delegates tasks effectively to department supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations. Manage inventory flow while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the Responsibilities of “Yard Manager”: · Manage 8 or more direct reports · Work closely with sales and the traffic department · Manage workflow with warehouse personnel · Communicate with inbound and outbound truck drivers · Coordinate repairs / improvements with outside contractors · Enforce all safety and quality guidelines · Any other duties/ projects as requested by the Operations Manager.

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

QMS:

o Train on Department Work Instructions & Job Scope

o Train on Quality Policy and Department Processes o Process Flow

o Conduct meetings and submit training records

o Quarterly competency reviews on personnel o Effectively identify areas that need additional training ·

Safety:

o Hold brief daily safety meetings with department personnel

o Maintain clear aisle ways and organize racks and dock space o Maintain equipment checklists

o Quarterly maintenance on equipment (hand tools, pickers, forklifts, etc.)

o Enforces and monitors “Lock-out/Tag-out” protocol

o Communicates equipment breakdowns and safety hazards to upper management

QUALIFICATIONS

· Five years or more of warehouse related experience

· Excellent work ethic; ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player

· Understand quality guidelines and safety rules

· Positive attitude / Results driven

· Strong communication and leadership skills

· Strong decision making and problem solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
