The Yard Associate is a safety sensitive position responsible for the day to day activities of the yard and property. You will be instrumental in supporting efficient operations by providing vital support for facility, equipment and service operations. As brand ambassadors, State Line employees provide memorable, positive and engaging experiences to our residential, commercial and industrial customers.
· Keeping property, facilities and yards clean and organized.
· Inspecting storage tanks on a daily basis.
· Filling BBQ & forklift/motor fuel cylinder and bulk propane trucks.
· Refurbish propane vessels; includes moving, purging, sanding, de-valving, performing hydrostatic testing and painting.
· Maintain all propane vessels and valves to ensure they are leak-free prior to being available for service.
· Due to equipment, fuels and other products being utilized, this individual must remain alert and focused and otherwise complete work in a safe manner, including reporting of any unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
· Interact with customers and co-workers in a respectful and courteous manner and maintain confidentiality of all customer information.
· Participate in all safety and staff meetings, as required.
· Be receptive of and competently use new technologies.
· Function effectively and efficiently in this safety sensitive position.
· Complete work assignments satisfactorily and as assigned.
· Tools and equipment are kept in safe operating order.
· Keep all customer information confidential and only use customer information in the context of assigned duties.

· Mechanically inclined skills for general yard, pump station and depot repairs:
· Experience with hand tools, power tools and test equipment.
· Basic troubleshooting, problem solving and diagnostic skills.
· Focusing on the tasks at hand ensuring attention to detail, awareness of surroundings ensuring safety.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills to speak with customers, vendors and other employees.
· Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
· A valid Drivers’ License with a clean and safe driving record.
· Routinely handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds and on occasion may be expected to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds up to chest height.
· Strong interpersonal skills and be very customer focused, enthusiastic, committed, motivated and resourceful.
· Listening, reading and following instructions to perform responsibilities safely and efficiently.
· Position hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday. 8:00AM to 12:00PM Some Saturdays (October 1 to April 1) with occasional overtime, weekends and holidays that will be based upon business needs.
