This position will require pipe welding and structural welding, welding with stringent quality requirements that include radiographic, ultrasonic, penetrant, and magnetic particle examination of completed welds and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Craft Superintendent.
- Perform code & non-code welding on pipe, pressure equipment, plate and structural steel.
- Perform code & non-code welding of carbon steel and alloys.
- Perform journeyman level pipefitting, layout, and construction of piping. Make orthographic and isometric drawings or sketches of piping systems.
- Read P&ID’s and understand symbols
- Familiarity with pipe classifications
- Perform journeyman level rigging tasks
- Will be expected to flex in pipefitting and rigging crafts
- Wear proper PPE and prioritize Safety
- Perform good quality functionalities that me ASME, AWS, API standards.
- Performs NDE Testing as required by code
- Understand Energy Isolation
- Understands pipe fitting materials
- Fabricate and install piping supports and hangers.
- Weld Carbon steel, Stainless steel and various alloys per piping specifications using GMAW and SMAW
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license
- 5 years of relevant working experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a refinery setting a plus.
- Experience in mechanical work, i.e., valve replacements and rigging a plus
- Experience in operating various heavy equipment a plus. Small cranes, forklifts, front end loaders, skid loaders, plow trucks a plus
Starting pay is $50.34-$54.30 per hour with highly competitive benefits including retirement and medical.
