MIG Welder
Job Summary:
A skilled and motivated Welder with is being sought to join the team. Responsibilities include:
•Welding carbon steel components according to blueprints and specifications.
•Setting up and operating MIG welding equipment.
•Preparing materials and work surfaces for welding.
•Inspecting welds for quality and adherence to specifications.
•Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
•Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, including adjusting gas ratios and wire speeds.
•Measure, cut, and prepare carbon steel components for welding.
•Perform MIG welding on carbon steel in various positions (e.g., flat, vertical).
•Inspect completed welds for quality, using techniques like visual inspection and measuring tools.
•Troubleshoot welding issues and make necessary adjustments to equipment or technique.
•Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Maintain a clean and organized work area.
•May assist with other welding tasks and fabrication.
Qualifications:
•Experience welding carbon steel.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
•Basic understanding of welding procedures and quality control.
•Ability to use measuring tools and hand tools common to the welding trade.
•Strong attention to detail.
•Physical stamina and dexterity to perform welding tasks.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Completion of a vocational training program or apprenticeship in welding is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (e.g., 50 pounds).
•Ability to stand for extended periods.
•Good hand-eye coordination.
