Duties & Responsibilities
•Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of instrumentation systems within the Water Treatment plant, adhering to electrical codes and safety standards.
•Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance to ensure the reliability and support continuous operational readiness.
•Complete preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and extend the life of electrical components.
•Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
•Work closely with other maintenance staff and plant operations personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and improve plant efficiency.
•Adhere to all workplace safety policies and regulations, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or near misses.
•Ensure all maintenance and repair work is conducted in accordance with company policy, applicable safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
•Participate in safety meetings and training, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of safety practices and equipment reliability.
•Maintain detailed logs of maintenance work, including repairs made, parts used, and machine status updates.
•Sourcing and ordering parts
•Oversee and respond to electrical issues occurring on site
•Travel to multiple locations may be required
•Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education, Experience & Qualification
•Red Seal Certification (Electrician)
•Minimum of 3-5 years experience of related industrial experience within mining or a similar heavy industrial environment.
•Experience with PLCs and familiarity with voltage regulation and electronic control systems.
•Skilled in analyzing electrical schematics and operational manuals to effectively troubleshoot and repair systems.
•Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable regulations.
Technical Competencies & Skills
•Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts; on a 7x7 rotation.
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively from technical drawings and manuals.
•Physical fitness to perform labor-intensive tasks, including working at heights and in tight areas.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and manual dexterity.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate on complex tasks.
•Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
•Good English communication skills both oral and written.
•Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
•Proven safety and attendance record.
•Knowledge of computer maintenance systems.
