Water Rights Engineer III/IV

Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring an experienced, results-driven water rights engineer to join our Water Sharing Program team! Our multidisciplinary team designs and develops new water supplies in the Arkansas River Basin using a collaborative approach that focuses on preserving and enhancing agricultural communities while developing new supplies for our city. Over the next decade, this team will take the lead in obtaining water court decrees for the water supply developed as part of our projects. These projects require an understanding of water administration in Colorado, an understanding of Colorado Springs' unique raw water storage and delivery systems, and the ability to identify and assess the needs of other water users within the basin.

You will have the opportunity to positively impact the future for both the city and agricultural water users. You will also help provide technical analysis of issues raised in water court negotiations and design, and propose technical solutions to resolve those issues.

This position is being posted at multiple levels. A combination of your education, experience, and skills will determine which level you are starting at.

Engineer III: $107,120/yr. to $133,910/yr.

Engineer IV: $129,667/yr. to $162,094/yr.
