The Water Production Operator is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance with TCEQ and production standards of the water supply throughout the District from its source. Conducts regulatory checks of water quality and serviceability of the operating systems, tanks, and pumps. Inspects all new construction of storage tank sites (elevated and ground) and booster stations.
· Oversees all aspects of operations for GVSUD wells, storage locations, booster stations, and pump stations associate with water production.
· Schedules, tracks and monitors all necessary services needed to maintain and operate equipment.
· Monitors, adjusts and regulates all chlorinators utilized throughout the water production process to ensure clear and reliable water in accordance with TCEQ standards.
· Operates and is fully knowledgeable on all aspects of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system at all plant locations; works directly with the GVSUD SCADA contractor for appropriate system upgrades and refinements.
· Gathers all regulatory monthly bacteriological samples throughout the GVSUD CCN and transports those samples to the lab for appropriate testing.
· Develops a rolling year budget plan for all necessary maintenance requirements on equipment to include but not limited to the wells, pumps, SCADA system, Motor Control Center, Hach SC200 (chlorine equipment) and all physical structures.
· Escalates issues and advises executive management on project problems, delays, quality control, and presents possible solutions.
· Serves as lead inspector for all new water operations projects (plant/booster station construction etc.) to ensure they are being performed within the designated scope of work; works with the District Engineer for the execution of any necessary change orders.
· Serves as the primary quality control officer for any customer water quality complaints that pertain strictly to the taste, odor, or physical properties of the water.
· Five years of experience in ground water production.
· Current Class “C” Ground Water Production License from TCEQ with ability to obtain a Class “B” license within one (1) year from start date.
