Rural Electric Supply Cooperative (RESCO), is a member-owned wholesale distributor of high voltage electrical products. We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Pierre, SD. This position is Monday thru Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm with some flexibility on those hours. Responsibilities of this position include:
•Provide overall leadership and support to staff including assigning duties and overseeing work performance.
•Develop, implement and maintain plans for efficient material management in the warehouse.
•Oversee and participate in picking, packing and shipping process to ensure timely fulfillment.
•Negotiate and maintain pricing agreements with freight carriers.
•Hire specialized carriers for transportation of products as needs arise.
•Manage inbound and outbound shipments, coordinate with carriers, prepare shipping documents, track shipments, resolve inaccurate/damaged shipments.
•Ensure all data is entered into the computer system in a timely manner.
•Inspect the physical condition of the warehouse, equipment and trucks and make sure necessary repairs and maintenance are completed.
•Monitor inventory control including completing cycle counts.
•Responsible for compliance with OSHA and DOT rules and regulations as well as any state laws.
•Manage fleet of trucks and driver software to ensure proper safety and maintenance.
•Maintain a clean, safe, organized and efficient warehouse environment.
•Supervise warehouse staff to include training and coaching.
The successful candidate will have a CDL Class A license, high school diploma or equivalent along with three years of warehouse experience. Other qualifications include:
•Strong leadership, organizational and problem solving skills
•Effective communication skills
•Ability to make well informed and objective decisions
•Knowledge of OSHA and DOT safety regulations
•Ability to operate and pass certification for use of a forklift
•Proficient computer and data entry skills
•Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
•Ability to stand and work on concrete floors for extended periods of time
•Ability to climb, reach, bend and kneel
•Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and handle products
•Ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas
