First Cut Design & Fabrication is seeking a Warehouse Manager to join our team. We specialize in turnkey solutions for the natural gas transmission and distribution – from design, fabrication and installation. This is an in-person position located at our facility in Richburg, SC and will report directly to the Shop Manager.
The Warehouse Manager will need to have possess excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills. This position is expected to be a hands-on working manager to work along side the team.
Responsibilities include:
Warehouse Operations
•Manages and oversees warehouse activities and warehouse staff, including receiving, picking, material movements and staging for fabrication etc. Determining appropriate staffing levels to load, unload, move, and store materials.
Staff Management
•Direct and manage warehouse staff’s time to maximize productivity and drive accountability.
•Responsible for supervising, training, motivating and developing warehouse staff.
Administration & Safety
•Maintain timely and accurate entry of material receipts within the ERP system
•Maintain the safety of warehouse operations in compliance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA and any other applicable regulations.
•Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
•Works in conjunction with project management and accounting to resolve issues related to customer orders, invoices, shipping, and stocking agreements
•Manages’ shipments leaving the warehouse. Involvement includes initiating shipment paperwork in ERP system, providing shipping confirmation and details to driver and providing confirmation paperwork into the ERP system.
•Develop strategies and goals for warehouse operations, such as process improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
•Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize warehouse processes, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
•Ensure that materials are received and stored in an efficient and economical manner and maintain the required records in conformance with company policy.
•Supervise the proper routing, loading, and preparation of orders for shipment and delivery in accordance with customer instructions.
•Coordinate cycle count programs and physical inventories and develop and maintain accuracy of both activities.
•Track and input internal material transfers between stock and projects in ERP.
•Resolve material discrepancies with vendors.
•Maintain an organized warehouse
Experience/Qualification Requirements:
Must have:
•5+ years of warehouse operations management and material handling experience
•2+ years of leadership experience
•Forklift certification (preferred) and knowledge of warehouse equipment handling.
•Knowledge of materials used preferred (Pipe, Fittings, Valves etc)
Skillsets Necessary for Success in this Role:
•Possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
•Strong organizational skills.
•Possess the foresight to prepare in advance for large receipt of material shipments
•Hands on and works with the team, rather than only directing and delegating.
•Be able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
•Possess and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of and be able to apply and enforce OSHA, DOT and other warehouse and material handling safety regulations.
•Be able to remain calm and function in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly. Possess the ability to manage busy times as well as slow times efficiently.
•Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products used.
•Be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations.
•Effectively learn to use Microsoft Office Outlook and Teams to communicate.
•Read, write, speak, and understand English. Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
Working Conditions: Location is in-person in Richburg SC. Hours are 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
