Material Handler – 2nd Shift

Location: Kent, Ohio Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $19 - $22 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, self-driven Material Handler to join our 2nd shift team. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently

- Accurately read and use tape measures and perform basic math

- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

- Handle and move heavy steel materials (up to 75 lbs)

- Stand for extended periods; frequent bending and lifting required

- Support team members and adapt to workload as needed

Qualifications:

- Prior industrial or warehouse experience required

- Experience with forklifts and overhead cranes

- Ability to read tape measures and perform accurate measurements

- Strong math skills and attention to detail

- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, bend, and stand throughout shift

- Reliable, punctual, and ready to work daily

- Must live within commuting distance to Kent, Ohio

Preferred:

- Previous work in a steel service center or similar environment

- Familiarity with handling steel products

- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols, especially for heavy materials

- Experience using inventory management systems

Schedule:

- 2nd Shift (2:00 pm to 10:00 pm)

- Overtime available based on business needs
