Job Overview: John McCarter Construction (JMC) is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee the organization, maintenance, and efficiency of our South Lyon and Rochester warehouses. This role will ensure that both locations are well-organized, stocked, and have accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled at optimizing inventory systems and storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
•Warehouse & Yard Management: Maintain a neat, organized, and efficient warehouse yard environment. Regularly inspect and organize inventory to ensure ease of access and safety.
•Inventory Tracking & Management: Work with the Accounts Payable team to keep accurate, up-to-date inventory lists for both South Lyon and Rochester locations. Create and maintain accessible, accurate inventory records. Track inventory usage to ensure materials are correctly allocated to jobs. Manage the return of materials to inventory, organizing storage at both locations.
•Logistics and Shuttle Coordination: Oversee and manage the JMC shuttle process to transport materials between locations. Receive and organize incoming deliveries at JMC South Lyon. Coordinate with JMC Rochester staff to schedule and prepare for upcoming deliveries.
•Material Ordering and Stock Management: Monitor stock levels of essential materials (e.g., coil, caulk, nails) and place orders as needed. Shop around for materials to achieve maximum savings. Anticipate demand to ensure materials are available and stocked appropriately.
•Truck & Trailer Maintenance: Ensure all trucks, vans, dump trailers and service trailers are well-maintained, functional, and meet operational standards. Develop a system to ensure regular maintenance of all JMC vehicles is completed by in-house staff or external mechanic.
•System Improvements and Cost Efficiency: Continuously evaluate and improve storage and inventory systems. Implement cost-saving measures related to inventory management and storage practices at both warehouse locations.
