Warehouse Associate

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, focusing on inventory management, order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations and be proficient in various equipment and systems used in the industry.

Responsibilities

- Manage inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.

- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks for loading and unloading materials.

- Perform picking and packing duties to fulfill customer orders efficiently.

- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for tracking inventory movements.

- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and timely.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to comply with OSHA standards.

- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.

- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.

- Participate in training sessions for new hires on safety protocols and operational procedures.

Skills

- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, including stocking, order picking, and packaging.

- Familiarity with inventory management systems such as AS400 is a plus.

- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.

- Experience with materials handling techniques to ensure safe transport of goods within the warehouse.

- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes, including documentation requirements.

- Previous experience as a warehouse associate or similar role is highly desirable.
