About This Job

Summary The Vice President of Project Delivery will serve as a strategic leader driving JERA’s growth through the successful delivery of utility-scale power and clean fuels projects ranging from $300M to $1B+. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of greenfield, mid-stage, and brownfield projects, including thermal technologies (e.g., combined cycle, simple cycle, reciprocating, and aeroderivative gas turbines), energy storage (e.g., lithium-ion and long-duration), and potentially non-dispatchable renewables (e.g., solar, wind) and low-carbon solutions (e.g., LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, carbon capture, direct air capture).

This position leads engineering, project management, and project controls functions, and develops and implements project delivery frameworks and engineering standards. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in planning and executing large-scale energy infrastructure projects, with strong cross-functional leadership, risk management expertise, and the ability to collaborate across internal and external stakeholders to drive portfolio value. This role partners closely with the CPGO, CSO, CCO, M&A, and External Affairs teams to prioritize and optimize project delivery.

Position Description Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

- Provide PMO leadership for the portfolio of advanced commercial-scale energy infrastructure projects, including thermal power generation, energy storage (e.g., lithium-ion and long-duration), and low-carbon technologies (e.g., LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, carbon capture, direct air capture), ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.

- Oversee the staged gate framework of project lifecycle—from feasibility, conceptual design, FEED, detailed design and construction (EPC) through commissioning and handover—ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards. Be a critical technical and planning support to the Development and M&A leads in early project phases and assuming lead accountability following FID for the execution phases.

- Lead the Project Delivery team’s collaboration with internal development, commercial, and M&A teams to assess technical feasibility and execution risks of greenfield, mid-stage, and brownfield assets; support due diligence and integration of acquired projects.

- Build and manage a high-performing team of engineers, project managers, project controls and construction professionals, as well as external consultants and contractors, to deliver a multi-GW portfolio of energy and/or clean fuels assets.

- Develop, implement and continuously improve upon a project execution framework, engineering standards, and construction protocols in alignment with JERA America’s delivery model and global best practices.

- Lead cross-functional coordination among engineering, permitting, interconnection, procurement, and construction teams to minimize execution risk and ensure project readiness for Final Investment Decision (FID).

- Provide key commercial and operational inputs to inform financial modeling, commercial structuring, project viability validation, execution readiness and governance (FID) approval.
