Position Overview

As the Vice President of Distribution Operations

, you will own the strategic, financial, and operational performance of Gridco’s largest business unit—responsible for

80 % of our workforce across multiple states. Leading the Directors of Distribution (East & West) and the Director of Storm Operations, you will translate company strategy into field-ready execution, ensure P&L targets are met, and represent Gridco with utility partners on multimillion-dollar contracts.

You will work hand-in-hand with our Safety Director and the rest of the executive team to drive a culture of zero-compromise safety, operational excellence, and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Oversight

•

Lead, develop, and hold accountable the Directors of Distribution and Storm Operations. Create alignment across the division and ensure high performance across multiple geographies.

Strategic Execution

•

Drive rollout of new initiatives, processes, and strategic directives. Convert ideas into field-executable action with measurable results.

Operational Excellence

•

Ensure resource optimization, customer satisfaction, and best-in-class safety and quality performance. Monitor key metrics and hold leaders accountable.

Contract Management

•

Lead high-stakes contract negotiations and manage customer relationships with professionalism, clarity, and confidence.

P&L Ownership

•

Own the financial performance of the Distribution Division. Forecast, monitor, and drive results aligned with Gridco’s growth targets.

Risk & Compliance

•

Provide confident leadership in areas including workers’ compensation, personnel decisions, and complex employee matters. Ensure legal and policy compliance across the business u.

Crisis & Storm Response

•

Operate calmly and decisively in high-pressure situations. Lead response during storm events and emergency mobilizations with speed and coordination.

Qualifications

•

20+ years

of progressive leadership in utility construction, power distribution, or a related field.

•

Demonstrated success managing large teams and multimillion-dollar projects across multiple geographies.

•

Deep expertise in contract negotiation, P&L management, and operational strategy.

•

Strong working knowledge of workers’ compensation law, HR best practices, and complex employee relations.

•

Proven ability to lead calmly through crises and deliver in high-pressure, time-critical environments.

•

Executive-level communication, planning, and organizational skills.

•

Willingness to travel extensively to champion field operations and customer partnerships.
