As a Vendor Management & Technology Procurement Specialist, you will strive for operational efficiency and cost savings by working with key stakeholders across the corporation to identify and negotiate for enterprise software (on-premise and hosted), hardware, networking, telecommunications and technology professional services.

General

•

Negotiates the delivery of support and services for the Information Services Division in the procurement of enterprise software (on-premise and hosted), hardware, networking, telecom and professional services.

•

Adheres to centralized procurement strategy, policies, and procedures.

•

Develops work relationships with all levels of management and Valero business partners across all departmental and functional lines at all levels within the organization.

•

Provides contract financial analysis for leadership to use for decision making.

Vendor Management (Sourcing, Procurement, Negotiation, Management)

•

Sources, qualifies and enlists preferred supplier base for key goods and services; recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.

•

Manages supplier vendor relations; support onsite teams in resolving vendor issues as necessary.

•

Leads negotiation of contracts and vendor management, evaluation of vendor performance, administration of contract documents, resolution of contract issues, monitoring and managing expiring contracts.

•

Manages multiple efforts simultaneously and effectively prioritizes in order to maximize business impact in a very fast-paced environment.

Legal

•

First line of review of contracts for compliance with Valero Legal policies.

•

Resolve contract disputes and negotiate on behalf of Valero’s best interests.

•

Ensure IT contract language addresses specific issues raised by internal stakeholders including, but not limited to Legal, Compliance, Data Security, Risk Management, Information Privacy and Governance, Internal Audit, and Tax.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

•

High School Diploma or GED.

•

5+ years of relevant technology procurement experience required.

•

Able and willing to work onsite and in-person at the Valero Headquarters in San Antonio, TX.

Preferred Requirements:

•

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) or foreign equivalent degree - related field preferred.

•

Technology Procurement certification preferred.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
