Position Title: PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Position Summary: The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement process for high-value and complex goods and services. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that procurement activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. The Procurement Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that procurement efforts align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Planning:
•Develop and execute procurement strategies for key categories of goods and services.
•Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost drivers to inform procurement decisions.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to identify procurement needs and establish priorities.
Supplier Management:
•Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
•Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organization.
•Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnership and performance.
Procurement Process Management:
•Lead the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to purchase order to delivery.
•Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
•Monitor and manage procurement KPIs to ensure targets are met.
Cost Management:
•Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
•Monitor and report on procurement expenditures and ensure alignment with budgetary goals.
•Implement cost-control measures to optimize procurement spend.
Risk Management:
•Assess and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process and supplier relationships.
•Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions and other procurement-related risks.
•Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing practices and corporate social responsibility standards.
Continuous Improvement:
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
•Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement and supply chain management.
•Mentor and provide guidance to junior procurement staff.
Collaboration and Communication:
•Work closely with internal departments, including Finance, Operations, and Legal, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational goals.
•Provide regular updates and reports to management on procurement activities and performance.
•Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders and suppliers.
Other Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred.
•4+ years of experience in procurement
•Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
•Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Knowledge of procurement best practices, laws, and regulations.
•Proven track record of integrity and adaptability.
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas (e.g. IF/THEN, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS) to support data analysis and reporting.
