POSITION – Union CNG: Utility Truck Driver

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

LOCATION: CNG - CT - East Hartford - Meadow St

RATE RANGE: $37.02 - $45.70

Job Summary

Any applicant transferring into the department or filling this position from the outside will be required to provide after hours and weekend emergency coverage on a rotating basis (on-call coverage).

This is a DOT safety-sensitive position. Any applicant transferring into this department from a non-safety sensitive position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Key Responsibilities

- Operates all types of vehicles owned by the Company, either with or without any type of trailer attached.

- Follows written and/or verbal orders to obtain, load, deliver and unload materials of all sorts.

- Patches ditches and restores worked areas to proper order after completion of jobs.

- Keeps vehicle assigned in good order and reports any necessary repairs.

- Performs duties of Distribution Fitter B and does other miscellaneous work as required.

- Learns and assists in duties of higher classification so as to qualify for promotion.

- May involve handling hazardous waste. Training will be provided by the Company to meet requirements of 40 CFR 265.16.

- Denotes essential functions.

Required Qualifications

- Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.

- Must be able to understand and follow oral & written instructions.

- Must be physically able to perform the duties required.

- Must have a good degree of mechanical aptitude.

- Must have a CDL-A driver’s license, a good driving record and demonstrated ability to drive all types of vehicles owned by the company, with or without trailers attached, in a safe and proper manner.

- Have knowledge of geographical layout of territory served by CNG.
