Position Overview

We’re hiring a Utility Crew Lead who’s done the work, knows the grind, and can drive a crew to hit quality and deadlines without babysitting. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations on utility installation projects—from digging and laying main to service taps and final grade—while keeping safety, production, and workmanship locked in.

This is not a training-wheels role. We need someone who’s already been in the trench and is ready to take charge.

Key Responsibilities

•

Lead a crew in the installation of water mains, sewer laterals, storm sewer, and related infrastructure

•

Interpret and work off of engineered plans, specs, and stakeouts

•

Coordinate with inspectors, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

•

Operate and direct others on heavy equipment as needed

•

Ensure safety protocols and company standards are followed daily

•

Manage materials, track job progress, and communicate needs to the office

•

Problem-solve on-site issues and push the job forward without delays

•

Train, mentor, and hold crew members accountable

Requirements

•

Minimum 5+ years of utility installation experience, with 2+ years in a lead or foreman role

•

Strong understanding of water/sewer systems, grades, and municipal specs

•

Proficient in reading construction drawings and setting up for production

•

Able to run and direct equipment operators and laborers efficiently

•

Leadership mentality—can manage people, timelines, and expectations

•

Must pass drug test and have a valid CDL

Preferred

•

Experience with directional drilling, hydrovac work, or private utility services

•

Ability to use tablets or digital tools for documentation and communication

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
