Job Description for Undervessel Tooling Technician:
This position is responsible for the refurbishment, testing, and packing of the GE Vernova Hitachi Undervessel Tooling systems used at domestic and international nuclear facilities. Undervessel Tooling Technicians are responsible for following all tooling refurbishment procedures, having a questioning attitude, and stopping when uncertain. Other responsibilities include communicating with the Lead Technician when there are tooling failures, supply issues, and/or safety concerns. You will also work with site Radiation Protection team to ensure proper radiological protocols are being followed.
- Associates Degree in mechanical maintenance or similar field.
- Or three years of experience in similar fields.
- Clean background with no outstanding/pending legal charges
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test at time of hire and random
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Non-US Citizen must hold current work visa or green card
- Ability to work independently with little direction with a “Can Do” attitude.
- Prior nuclear experience - specifically Undervessel.
- Must understand tooling refurbishment process specific to the Undervessel production line.
- Strong electrical/mechanical skills a must.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications to tooling used at nuclear facilities.
- Read and comprehend detailed work instructions in accordance with written procedures.
- Continuous focus on the safe and cost-effective execution of assignments as directed by Camera Technician Lead.
- Computer skills, such as Microsoft Office; PLM, EAM experience a plus.
- Maintain safe work area and excellent nuclear practices.
- Support other areas of operation as needed (CRD, MODS, etc.).
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in heightened environments
- Must be able to carry 20lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, climb, and extend as required for the job
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work in high heat environments
- Ability to work safely in high congested areas
- Must be able to work in high radiation fields where personal protective equipment, including clothing, is required.
