To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Transformer Test Technician III Supervisor to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. In this crucial role, the Transformer Test Technician III Supervisor will oversee the maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of a wide variety of electrical transformers from various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Responsibilities: OR, CA and CO
•Supervise and perform transformer testing and troubleshooting, including Megger, TTR, SFRA, Power Factor, Core Ground, and other diagnostics.
•Direct the testing of transformer accessories such as passivation, alarms, and system protection functions.
•Execute OEM- and customer-specified electrical testing in coordination with utility and end-user standards.
•Lead troubleshooting of complex control wiring issues while providing guidance and support to junior technicians.
•Ensure accurate documentation, thorough review of test results, and timely generation of detailed customer reports.
•Manage the timely and efficient completion of work orders and daily repair tasks while upholding high-quality standards.
•Oversee the safe operation of industrial and construction equipment, enforcing capacity limits and safety compliance.
•Maintain and coordinate repairs for vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness and operational safety.
•Enforce adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations, with emphasis on spill containment and hazardous material handling.
•Collaborate with the Sales team by identifying and communicating leads for potential projects.
•Assist with recruitment activities and workforce development efforts.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•10+ years of experience performing transformer testing and/or transformer services, including operating electrical equipment and shop tools
•Prior experience performing transformer oil work and transformer assembly, including degassing and oil processing.
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Class A CDL, OSHA, and TWIC cards are highly preferred.
•Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office, online tools, and basic computer skills.
•Advanced Load Tap Changer experience.
•Able to interpret work scopes, drawings, diagrams, and technical documents (both).
•Knowledge or related experience in prepping units for disposal following proper environmental disposal procedures.
•Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both internal and external customers positively and professionally.
•Able to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.

•Must be able to pass a drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests, and a pre-employment criminal background check.
•Must complete annual safety training to remain compliant with company policies and safety regulations. Training may occasionally require travel outside the employee’s assigned state or region.
•Valid and current driver's license with a clean driving record.
•Must be willing and able to travel frequently (minimum 80%), including daily drives to customer job sites and periodic overnight stays; flexible to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
•Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam.

Working Conditions:
This job requires the ability to respond to 24/7 call-outs and to work extended hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Work may be conducted outdoors in all weather conditions, near low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery, in areas with elevations in excess of 100 feet, and confined spaces, adhering to strict safety protocols. Exposure to loud noises from machinery is common, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This job involves the risk of electrical shock. This job requires frequent travel between RMS facilities and customer sites.
Physical Requirements:
The position demands physical mobility to navigate uneven surfaces, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, fine motor skills for handling small components and tools, and the capability to climb ladders and work at heights. Sustained physical effort, including standing, bending, pushing, digging, pulling, kneeling, crawling, and reaching for extended periods, is required. Good vision, including color vision and depth perception, and the ability to hear alarms and communications in noisy environments are essential. Additionally, proficiency in speaking, hearing, reading, and typing in English is required for effective communication and documentation.
