We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining tooling equipment, supporting production through efficient die setup and maintenance, and contributing to the overall quality and performance of our operations.
- Maintain, repair, and build dies, fixtures, and tooling components to print specifications.
- Sharpen, shim, and heat-treat cutting tools to required tolerances.
- Set up and operate tool room equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM.
- Diagnose die and tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support die changes, press set-ups, and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Design and develop new tools and gages or refurbish existing tooling.
- Lace/start strips and perform first/last piece evaluations per SOPs.
- Create Tool Repair Tags (TRT) and follow process control procedures
- Lathe/Mill: ±.001”
- Surface/Cylindrical Grinder: ±.0002”
- Drill Press: ±.001”
- Power Saw: ±.03”
- Conduct inspections using micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, etc.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and productivity standards
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Ability to read/write/speak English
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Forklift and crane license (or willingness to obtain)
- Authorized for Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods
- Experience with SolidWorks (Sheet Metal & Fundamentals)
- Knowledge of EDM preparation and troubleshooting stamping operations
- MIG/TIG welding skills
- Basic to advanced understanding of GD&T
- Exposure to lean manufacturing (including Tier 1 & Tier 2 Lean Daily Management)
- Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection tools
- ERP systems knowledge
