BrenMar Construction, Inc. is expanding our operations to meet the increased need from our customers, and currently have several openings for experienced TIG Welders/Fabricator. Candidates must be able to travel when needed.
Job Overview:
The TIG Welder/Fabricator (experienced level) is responsible for welding and fabricating metal structures and components used in construction projects, primarily in the manufacturing environment. This includes working with various metals, such as steel, aluminum, and iron, to construct and repair different fixtures and structures. The Construction Welder must adhere to safety standards, work from blueprints, and collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding and Fabrication:
•Primary TIG welding and performing various types of welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc) on different metals.
•Fabricate and assemble metal components according to specifications.
•Cut, bend, and shape metal materials using power tools and machinery
Blueprint Interpretation:
•Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed drawings.
•Measure and mark metal surfaces to prepare for welding.
•Ensure all welds meet the required specifications and tolerances.
Safety and Compliance:
•Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Inspect welds and structures to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
•Maintain a clean and organized work environment, complying with OSHA regulations.
Equipment Maintenance:
•Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools.
•Perform routine maintenance on welding machines and report any malfunctions.
Collaboration:
•Work closely with other construction professionals, including engineers, carpenters, and electricians, to complete projects.
•Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project goals are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent (5 years document experience may be substituted for education).
•Proven experience with all types of welding, MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc.
•Proven experience with fabricating
•Familiarity with different welding techniques and materials.
•Strong understanding of welding symbols and blueprints.
•Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
•Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, confined spaces).
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Completion of a welding certification program or apprenticeship.
•AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent
•OSHA 10 or 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 75 lbs).
•Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and working at heights.
•Comfortable working in outdoor and sometimes hazardous environments.
Pay based on verifiable years of experience and skill level.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
