A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Test Engineer, you will be part of the Quality Department, and play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet all required routine and design tests. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting equipment and production issues, supporting quality improvements, and implementing preventive and corrective measures for identified problem areas. You will support test technicians, in-process and final inspectors with training and guidance to ensure compliance with internal or customer requirements.
How You’ll Make An Impact•Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure overall product quality, including creating documentation, devising quality tests, and defining test criteria.
•Lead and assist in root-cause investigations (e.g., 8D, A3) and associated Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA); Develop continuous improvement ideas using SEI’s SIM/3i process.
•Responsible for customer factory acceptance tests and create test reports per request; Create work instructions for production processes and conduct necessary routine and design tests.
•Troubleshoot test equipment and test failures, taking corrective and preventive actions as needed; Identify and disposition non-conforming materials in collaboration with Production, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Shipping departments.
•Report and update issues using the Shop Floor Management (SFM) tool, SAP, and other reporting mechanisms, leading actions to mitigate and correct such issues.
•Support all other Production and Quality team activities, including preliminary and dielectric testing of units, dry out, and oil filling activities.
What You Bring
•A bachelor’s degree Engineering (preferably Electrical) required
•6 months or more of experience in an industrial production environment required. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
•Experience in the test and design of transformers is highly preferred
•Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing (GD&T) including experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments
•Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings and technical specifications; Strong written and verbal communication skills to relay complex ideas to a wide range of audiences
•Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking to be able to spot problems quickly and find the underlying causes so changes can be made
