Territory Sales Manager – Power Generation PM Contracts

Generator Source, a leading North American provider of critical standby and emergency power solutions, is seeking a driven and experienced Territory Manager to join our sales team. This key role focuses on expanding our footprint within the utilities, telecom, hospital, and data center sectors — organizations that depend on reliable power.
We specialize in new and low-hour industrial diesel and natural gas generators, ranging from 500kW to 4000kW, featuring trusted brands such as Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac, MTU, and more.
- Manage a defined sales territory with a focus on securing Preventive Maintenance (PM) contracts for industrial generators
- Identify and engage prospective customers in industries like telecom, healthcare, data centers, and utilities
- Educate clients on the importance of generator maintenance for reliability and compliance
- Develop tailored PM service proposals based on customer needs and equipment
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with facilities managers, engineers, and decision-makers
- Coordinate with internal service and operations teams to ensure successful delivery
- Track opportunities, generate quotes, and close deals using a consultative approach
- Stay current on industry standards, competitor offerings, and market trends
- Proven track record in territory sales, ideally in power generation or a related industrial field
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, pipeline development, and closing high-value deals
- Experience with account planning and regional market penetration
- Solid understanding of industrial power generation solutions
- Familiarity with standby/emergency power systems in industries such as telecom, healthcare, data centers, and utilities
- Working knowledge of generator brands like Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac, MTU
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Self-driven and capable of working independently
- Skilled in customer research, face-to-face sales, and technical solution selling
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach

- Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Experience selling to facilities managers, engineers, or operations professionals
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance scheduling, contracts, and service delivery
- Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory (primarily day travel; limited overnight)
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Comfortable in a field-based sales environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally during site visits or equipment walk-throughs
- Highly competitive base salary
- Uncapped commission structure, including:
- New Preventive Maintenance (PM) contract sales
