This is the full performance level for engineering technicians. This position performs technical work involving the application of engineering technology principles related to the analysis, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and process in areas covered by existing guideline and precedents.
- Selecting, validating, and compiling hydrologic, hydraulic, or other engineering data from various sources; making detailed computations; and preparing graphs, charts, maps, and tables in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Conducting performance tests on operational equipment and systems using standardized procedures to identify problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Providing support and assistance within established engineering procedures to laboratories, field personnel, and research programs.
Supervision and guidance are provided by engineers or higher level Engineering Technicians. Work is generally reviewed prior to issue.

Associate of Science degree in engineering technology from an ABET accredited program or equivalent demonstrated experience for a full performance engineering technician.
