Summary/Overview:
NISC is looking for a senior-level product manager with a strong technical background to collaborate with product managers, developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations teams to ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations. The product manager is expected to have exceptional communications skills with enterprise software and cloud architecture knowledge to translate business requirements into technical and integration requirements.
This is a new position for NISC, and this position will spearhead defining and creating processes around our technical roadmap. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining the technical roadmap which includes all such projects, including all external APIs. Project management skills are essential to ensure technical requirements and dependencies are known and visible to all stakeholders to meet delivery commitments. The product manager will manage vendor and partner relationships as they relate to the technical requirements of each product.
Essential Duties:
•Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical product roadmap, including NISC APIs, to guide product development initiatives.
•Technical Product Roadmap at NISC focuses on our enterprise architecture and frameworks.
•Work with the software development divisions (Platform & Infrastructure Division and Application Development Division) to prioritize the product roadmap based on business needs, risks, and strategic goals.
•Provide business input to ensure alignment of technical initiatives with overall company objectives.
•Ensure that technical requirements and dependencies are clearly documented.
•Collaborate with the Product Management team to ensure seamless integration of features into multiple product roadmaps to meet NISC's strategic deadlines.
•Facilitate communication between teams to align project timelines and deliverables.
•Facilitate visibility of dependencies and commitments to all stakeholders (Team Leads to Executive Staff), ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
•Define and implement processes for productizing packages of APIs to support commercial and internal use cases.
•Conduct business reviews for API packages to assess market viability and strategic fit.
•Integrate API packages into the sales process, ensuring sales teams have the necessary tools, documentation, and information.
•Collaborate with our software development divisions to define business requirements for logging API usage to monitor performance and reliability.
•Collaborate with our software development divisions to define and support security controls that limit what APIs can be used by which vendors and at which member organizations.
•Create documentation and processes around API packages to assist internal teams in providing support, implementations, and quality assurance expertise to members and vendors.
•Deliver Cost of Service estimates for new projects, ensuring accurate budgeting and resource allocation.
•Collaborate with our Vendor Product Manager to effectively ensure alignment with technical product requirements and their objectives.
•Oversee the full product lifecycle for externally available APIs, catering to the needs of NISC Members.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:
•8+ years of related experience preferred.
•Proven ability in defining and implementing processes to enhance operational efficiency and achieve organizational goals.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
•Strong conceptual knowledge and understanding of enterprise software architecture and cloud architecture.
•General understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
•Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and drive them to successful completion.
•Familiarity with modern API delivery mechanisms and commercial models.
•Hands on experience with API's, preferred.
•Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex technical requirements and make informed decisions.
•Strong ability to effectively lead, influence, teach and mentor others.
•Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements seamlessly.
•Excellent presentation and training skills.
•Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.

Work Schedule:

•Hybrid Schedule: Minimum of working 3 day per week out of an office location and ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location.

Location: Tuesday and Wednesday - the third required day will be up to the candidate and their supervisor to choose.

Education Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
