In Canada, CNOOC International has oil sands assets in Long Lake, located in northern Alberta just south of Fort McMurray, which is a SAGD and partial Upgrader operation with production capacity of 85,000 barrels of bitumen a day. We also have interest in several other oil sands projects, including Hangingstone, operated by Greenfire Resources Operating Corporation and Syncrude’s oil sands mining upgrading facility. Therefore, we are seeking a Team Lead - Marketing Operations Accountingto join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta. This dynamic role will be instrumental in providing leadership, direction, and strategic financial support for marketing operations, ensuring accurate reporting, effective risk management, and alignment with overall business objectives.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience of petroleum marketing finance experience.
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting designation such as CPA.
- Expertise in accepted accounting practices within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Experience with SOX policies and procedures and control review.
- Ability to explain financial reporting concepts to technical staff.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP, BW and commodity trading system such as Right Angle is an asset.
- Proficient computer skills, experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Lead team with responsibility of accounting and reporting to operations accounting teams the sales, purchases, transportation and inventory information.
- Responsible for the function of confirmation with counterparties, invoicing and settlement of sale and purchase transactions.
- Accurate reporting of monthly marketing results and preparation of analysis for submission to corporate departments.
- Lead role in interfacing with front and mid-office teams.
- Provide leadership and coaching and drive continuous improvement within the team.
- Responsible for the existence and adherence of adequate controls within the business.
- Support the regulatory compliance requirements including periodic government submissions.
- Provide marketing inputs and analysis to support the annual budget preparation.
