Job Overview
The Team Lead is a dual-role position responsible for supervising a small team in both solar panel decommissioning projects in the field and production operations at the We Recycle Solar warehouse. This role supports the company's end-to-end solar panel lifecycle services by ensuring safe, efficient removal of panels in the field and maintaining throughput, quality, and safety in warehouse operations. The Team Lead sets the pace for daily work, reinforces training and safety protocols, and acts as the key point of communication between front-line staff and supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
Field Decommissioning Duties
•Lead a small crew in the safe removal of solar panels, racking, conduit, and associated materials.
•Assign daily tasks and ensure proper lifting, handling, and staging of materials.
•Oversee packaging, stacking, and shipping material based on company standards.
•Ensure job site is clean, organized, and operating according to safety protocols.
•Relay progress updates or site issues to the Site Supervisor.
Warehouse Production Duties
•Supervise team members in receiving, shipping, sorting, and processing solar panels and components
•Ensure proper handling of panels to preserve resale value or prepare for recycling.
•Monitor production line flow and resolve small issues to maintain productivity.
•Assist with labeling, inventory tracking, and palletizing finished goods.
•Support quality assurance checks and identify damaged or misclassified materials.
Safety & Leadership
•Conduct or participate in daily safety briefings and enforce proper PPE usage in both field and warehouse settings.
•Identify and mitigate hazards; escalate concerns to supervisors when necessary.
•Mentor new employees and reinforce training on equipment, handling, and process flow.
•Maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Communication
•Serve as a liaison between front-line workers and supervisors, communicating staffing needs, equipment issues, or delays.
•Maintain consistent updates on production or site status.
•Submit basic documentation, such as inbound and outbound reports or damage reports.
Qualifications
Required
•1–2 years of experience in solar, construction, warehousing, or production environments.
•Minimum 1 year of experience operating forklifts or material handling equipment.
•Prior experience leading small teams or training peers.
•Strong understanding of workplace safety standards.
•Forklift or equipment operation certification.
Preferred
•Experience with solar panel removal and/or processing.
•OSHA 10 certification or safety training.

Working Conditions
•Work takes place in both field environments (rooftop, ground mount, or canopies) and indoor warehouse/production settings.
•Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
•Approximately 75% of the job will require travel to off-site decommissioning projects.
