We are seeking an experienced and dependable Tank Truck Operator to join our team. This position involves safely handling and transporting fluids such as water, oil, methanol, and acid between field locations. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of fluid transfer operations, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
- Operate and maintain tank trucks used for hauling fluids
- Monitor gauges, valves, and hoses to ensure safe and efficient fluid transfer
- Follow dispatch instructions and coordinate with field supervisors and other crew members
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner (e.g., field tickets, FLHAs, inspection forms, etc.)
- Safely load and unload fluids while following company procedures and TDG requirements
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, as well as electronic driver logs
- Load, transport, and handle hazardous materials in compliance with TDG requirements
- Maintain communication with clients and dispatch regarding job progress and any changes in site conditions
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and other company safety initiatives
- Work in varying weather conditions and perform manual labour as required to support operations
- Maintain communications with Dispatch and coworkers
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Maintenance, and Accounting departments
- Maintain professionalism and respectful communication with drivers, clients, and co-workers
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating tank trucks in Oil & Gas or industrial hauling
- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence with clean abstract
- Standard First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), and H2S Alive safety tickets
- Strong working knowledge of TDG, Hours of Service, and OH&S requirements
- Experience with loading, unloading, and handling hazardous materials
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Capable of working independently in remote or fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible work environment
- Ability to complete all required documentation accurately and efficiently
- Physically capable of performing hands-on work in outdoor environments
- Willingness to work extended hours during the winter season; no set schedule – work as required
- Proficiency with computers (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems
