Crossroads Utility Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Supervisor who provides hands-on assistance in utility maintenance, someone who enjoys steady work, with frequent overtime. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and dedicated to supporting a team environment. Under general/minimal supervision, the Supervisor position provides direct support for the water distribution and wastewater collection survey team.
- Conduct detailed inspections of collections and distributions systems (from end to end) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and operational protocols.
- Identify and report maintenance issues or deficiencies for resolution - with follow through to completion.
- Ensure all inspections and reports align with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain organized and accurate records, as well as submitting required documentation promptly.
- Handle all customers with excellent customer service skill, including communication, de-escalation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve escalated issues.
- Report and coordinate maintenance needs with the appropriate departments.
- Verify that repair work is completed according to company and regulatory standards.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and maintain an organized database of findings.
- Assist in preparing presentations or summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards and company policies.
- Provide feedback to improve inspection protocols and processes with the appropriate departments and team members.
- Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to address field challenges and implement solutions.
- Maintain open communication with the Managers, District Managers, Operations & Customer Service
- Support other team members with inspections or projects as needed.
- Undertake various additional job-related tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to team goals.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience (or combination of experience and schooling/training) involving operation and maintenance of all components in collection and distribution systems
- Direct experience of mechanical tools and equipment, or two (2) years’ experience as a utility foreman.
- Great leadership and supervisory skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills;
- High attention to detail and quality in job tasks is a must;
- Clear understanding of safe operating, construction and maintenance procedures for collection and distribution systems
- Elevated Customer Service skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Demonstratable skill in planning, organizing and effectively managing multiple complex projects concurrently;
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, especially in Excel;
- The ability to handle tasks, with minimal supervision, as assigned by management;
- Highschool diploma or GED (Required)
- TCEQ Water Distribution class C license (preferred)
- TCEQ Wastewater Collections Class C (preferred)
- OSHA 30 (preferred)
- Valid Drivers License (Required)
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces,
- Substantial and frequent movements of climbing, squatting, bending, standing, walking, etc.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle items and operate tools (both light and heavy duty)
- May occasionally work in confined spaces
- Potential to be exposed to loud machinery noises, chemicals, and gas within utility systems
- Maintain proper PPE for all assigned tasks
- Occasionally, well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
- Moderate noise levels, typical of a business office with computers and printers.
- Regularly exposed to:
- Wet or humid conditions.
- Working near moving mechanical parts.
- Extreme outdoor conditions – from heat, cold, rain, snow, ice, etc.
- Frequent travel around the Greater Austin Area – in designated company vehicle
