We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven, and experienced professional to join the Supply Chain Solutions team as a
Sustainment Lead. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Supply Chain Management processes and technologies,
particularly SAP, and a proven ability to achieve objectives in a complex, fast-paced environment through strategic and
creative thinking, influential leadership, flawless project execution, and effective change and relationship management.
BC Hydro’s Supply Chain function is integral to maintaining operations and keeping the lights on. Supply Chain supports
safe, cost-effective, and timely work through the procurement and delivery of materials and services. A key objective in the
Supply Chain business model is ensuring the right technology solutions are in place to support delivery of key objectives so
that BC Hydro can meet its mission. The Supply Chain Solutions Team plays a leadership and advisory role, working
closely with Technology to ensure that systems such as SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Business Warehouse, and the Supply
Chain Workspace (MS SharePoint) continue to meet the needs of BC Hydro’s business groups and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Solutions Manager, the Sustainment Lead ensures that Supply Chain technologies are
optimized, business processes are continuously improved, and adoption is effectively supported across the organization.
- The Sustainment Lead will use subject matter expertise, business acumen and strategic thinking to solve highly complex
problems with broad undefined scope. Apply creativity and innovation to develop recommendations and influence business
stakeholders to align on ‘fit for purpose’ solutions, including system enhancements, communication, training, compliance
monitoring, process/roles reinforcement, and interventions to minimize custom workarounds.
- Provide guidance and expertise in analysing opportunities to increase the use of standardized practices and optimizing
Supply Chain solutions and processes across BC Hydro.
- Assess adequacy of the system/processes to meet business requirements and make recommendations for changes as
- Assess business requests and enhancement needs by applying knowledge of drivers, risks, and trade-offs to enable
successful integration and adoption in BC Hydro’s complex environment. Use their working relationships with key Supply
Chain and business stakeholders to facilitate understanding and documentation of the detailed requirements.
- The Sustainment Lead will build and maintain relationships with different sustainment groups at BC Hydro for the
management of cross-functional impacts, for knowledge sharing and implementation of best practices.
- Collaborate with Technology team to make recommendations on technical solutions and plan and lead the support of the
technical deployments (change requests) as per established Sustainment deployment model (e.g. preparing and executing
on communication and training, where required).
- Perform or oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of defect fixes and enhancements as required.
- Develop, deliver, and customize change management activities such as stakeholder engagement, training, and
communications by collaborating with multiple stakeholders for the successful adoption of complex changes to the system
- Manage a network of change agents across the business to ensure continuity of subject matter expertise and ensure
effectiveness in their role of peer support and training.
- Lead the development and maintenance of training materials, conduct training needs assessments, and deliver training
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide advanced support to users through direct requests or referrals from various
- A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, preferably with an emphasis on supply chain or business management.
- A minimum of 8+ years of business experience with a focus on supply chain.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Experience in procurement processes and policies is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Supply Chain Management technologies – SAP for Procurement preferred.
- Experience working on technology projects with a high degree of business transformation is preferred with a demonstrated
- Experience in SAP (Logistics, Project Systems Modules), SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BW, MS SharePoint and Analytics
tools (PowerBI/ Tableau) will be considered an asset.
- Experience working in an environment that is complex, with multiple stakeholders and strategic considerations.

- This is a P4 M&P Full-Time Regular (FTR) opportunity on the team based at our Edmonds location in Burnaby.
- Please note internally the position title is also referred to as Procurement Specialist.
- Please note this role is classified as a Hybrid role under the flexible work model, which currently includes a mix of working
from home and working in the office. At present, this role is expected to work in the office a minimum of two days per week
however at times it could be more frequent due to operational requirements and does require flexibility.
