The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

Supervisor Mine Operations
Lead and coordinate Mine Operations resources for Côté Gold. Lead the team to deliver safe, responsible and effective mine services including road maintenance, pit dewatering, cable handling, drilling, blasting, haulage and more. Support, coach, train and create space for the Operators to be successful.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
Leading and coordinating Mine Operations resources.
•Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
•Supervise Mine Operations personnel, field operators and equipment to prepare and maintain services and achieve production targets.
•Understand mine plans and mine maintenance activities and collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in preparing and coordinating mine supporting activities.
•Lead and empower employees in achieving production targets productive and effiecient and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship and feedback.
•Create space for the team to be effective in delivering results.
•Foster and inclusive work environment.
•Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and targets.
•Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of Côté Gold.
•Ensure the required resources (people and equipment) are in place to achieve targets.
•Promote a high performance culture by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching.
•Offer new approaches, methods or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
•Administer and comply with system requirements in a manner consistent with policies, procedures and regulations.
•Perform worksite inspections and safe work observations; participate in and lead investigations.
Area 2
Operational excellence.
•Seek opportunities to improve mine services and production.
•Be proactive and solution driven and implement operational improvements.
•Be supportive and open to learn to work with the Autonomous Haulage system and Autonomous drilling system, and leverage the advantages of technology to improve effeciencies
•Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
•Continually seek to improve your skills as a Supervisor, Mine Production.
•Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
•Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
•Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
•Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
Area 3
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
•Provides leadership and direction to the various equipment operators and stakeholders to ensure that the business and mine plan objectives are met.
•Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
•Mentor and train new team members.
•Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
•Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
•Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
•Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
•Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
•Develop and maintain the Côté Team culture
Job Qualifications
Minimum Requirements And Nice To Haves
Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents
•Ministry Supervisor Training is considered an asset.
Work Experience – Nature & Length
•3 or more years of experience in an open pit mining environment or autonomous operations environment.
•Previous exposure to Autonomous Mining Systems is highly desirable, but not essential.
•Previous exposure to lean and multi-disciplinary team leadership is desirable, but not essential.
•Digital literacy and experience with fleet management systems is required.
•Experience in hard rock mine drill and blast, load and haul environment would be seen as an asset
•Experience in MineStar is an asset.

•Demonstrated ability to engage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.
•Proven communication skills, both verbal, written and non-verbal.
•Understand efficiency drivers in a mining operation.
