Position

Supervisor, Electrical, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Superintendent, Electrical, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of site electrical systems, including power generation (diesel, renewable, or hybrid), substations, switchgear, and distribution systems across the site;

- Supervise and assign daily tasks to electricians and contractors while ensuring all work complies with electrical safety standards, mining regulations, and B2Gold Nunavut’s internal procedures;

- Assist with the preparation and execution of work permits, LOTO procedures, and safe work practices, while liaising with inspectors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations

- Proactively monitor inventory levels of electrical supplies and assist with procurement needs;

- Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions; and

- Promote electrical safety on site, and foster a safety-first culture by following and reinforcing B2Gold's safety policies, programs, and procedures.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Five (5) years’ experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity in a remote site with limited access to resources;

- Red Seal Electrician or equivalent journeyperson certification (required);

- Strong knowledge of CSA, CEC, and applicable electrical codes and safety practices; and

- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $185,000.00.
