We are seeking a skilled and driven Electrical Project Manager to lead the successful execution of electrical projects within industrial and mining environments. This role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle—from estimating and planning to execution and closeout—ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical systems, field operations, and industrial construction project management, with the ability to lead teams in high-demand environments and remote locations.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand the scope of work and identify electrical requirements.
- Quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs needed to complete electrical installations, upgrades, or repairs.
- Utilize cost estimation software, databases, and historical data to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Consider factors such as project complexity, site conditions, regulatory requirements, and industry trends when determining costs.
- Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals for electrical projects, including itemized cost breakdowns, labor estimates, and project schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Review bid documents and specifications to identify any discrepancies, omissions, or scope changes that may impact cost estimates.
- Present cost estimates and bid proposals to clients, stakeholders, and decision-makers in a clear and professional manner.
- Analyze cost data from completed projects to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and technologies to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Provide recommendations to project teams on cost-saving measures, value engineering options, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, including project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to clarify project requirements, address questions, and resolve issues related to cost estimation.
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and discussions to provide cost-related expertise and support decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bid proposals, and related documentation using project management software or other tools.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations to communicate cost estimation findings, analysis, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to improve the accuracy and efficiency of future cost estimation processes.
The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
- Nevada Electrical License required (Journeyman or higher, depending on project scope).
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing electrical projects in industrial or mining environments.
- In-depth knowledge of power distribution, instrumentation, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems.
- Proficient with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and estimating software.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Able to work in remote or rugged environments and manage multiple field teams effectively.
- Deep understanding of safety and regulatory standards in heavy industrial settings.
