About Island Gold District:

Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. Primary Responsibilities

•

Accountability for the implementation and maintenance of OHSE requirements including, but not limited to, training, instruction, and supervision of employees

•

Identification of work scopes and preparation of fully costed and scheduled resource plans

•

Management of site water, including ensuring environmental obligations and commitments are maintained

•

Delivering small projects and maintenance of Island Gold District infrastructure

•

Accountable for provision of services such as refueling of gensets, lighting towers, potable water supply, effluent disposal and potable water plant maintenance

•

Provision of ancillary services such as snow removal in all areas and road maintenance on applicable roads

•

Accountable for the provision of aggregate materials such as road base, sand and stemming material

•

Oversight and management of departmental contractors

•

Identification and implementation of cost reduction and efficiency opportunities

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience

•

Relevant engineering or trade qualification

•

Minimum 10-15 years’ relevant industry experience

•

Minimum 5 years’ supervisory/management experience

•

Knowledge of budgeting and cost evaluation

•

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

•

Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract

•

Possess excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills

•

Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to continually prioritize workload and respond to top priorities with a sense of urgency

•

Experience in open pit mining would be considered an asset

Working Conditions

•

Role is a 14-on / 14-off FIFO rotation (day shift only)
