The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

SUPERINTENDENT, SITE SERVICES
The Superintendent, Site Services leads the team to deliver safe, productive, responsible, and efficient site services including, but not limited to planning, coordination of contractors, and projects. They optimize and manage the allocation of resources, finances, and the stewardship of company assets. The Superintendent, Site Services supports, coaches, trains, and creates space for the site services team to be successful.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
Leading and coordinating site services resources.
•Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
•Oversee and implement site services programs and operations to maximize production efficiency and to ensure asset integrity.
•Understand planning and maintenance activities and collaborate closely with other departments in preparing and coordinating site services activities.
•Efficiently and accurately manage camp and transportation contractors and other resources to ensure safe and efficient camp management.
•Liaise with other departments to minimize impacts to operational reliability.
•Provide and support communication across stakeholder groups.
•Create space for the team to be effective in delivering results.
•Foster an inclusive work environment.
•Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required for contractors.
•Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of Côté Gold.
•Promote a high-performance culture by setting expectations and providing feedback and coaching.
•Offer new approaches, methods, or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
Area 2:
Lead operational excellence.
•Establish baseline performance standards for site services which includes developing and updating KPI trends, standard operating procedures, inspections/check sheets and more.
•Establish systems and standards to site services performance.
•Lead the execution and delivery of site services improvements.
•Ensure that employees are kept informed of safety, production, and cost performance data, to encourage growth and participation in potential improvements to each KPI.
•Be pro-active and solution driven and implement improvements.
•Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
•Continually seek to improve your skills as a Superintendent, Site Services.
•Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
•Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
•Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
•Consider risk along the five dimensions (compliance, time, quality, sustainability, and cost).
Area 3:
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
•Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors, trades, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the business objectives are met.
•Coordinate with other team members on site to meet operational deliverables.
•Help mentor and train new team members.
•Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
•Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
•Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
•Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
•Participates in the morning safety huddles.
•Ensure shift cross over logs are accurate and complete.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves
Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents
•A college diploma or university degree in a related field is considered an asset.
•Ministry Supervisor Training considered an asset.
Work Experience – Nature & Length
•Minimum 8 years of related work experience with a minimum of 5 years of related leadership experience.
Additional Qualifications – Competency Requirements
•Solid working knowledge of Mining environment and Site Services Management.
•Positive leader with ability to manage several teams and priorities simultaneously.
•Proficient in contractor management.
•Understand efficient drivers in mine site services.
•Previous exposure to lean and multi-disciplinary team leadership is desirable, but not essential.
•Ability to make effective, intuitive decisions under pressure.
•Demonstrated ability to engage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.
•Proven communication skills, both verbal, written and non-verbal.
•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
•Self-motivated individual who is driven to find solutions and strive for continuous improvement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
